Collective Harminy was founded by Harry and Carmina Merrill in 2022 to create intergenerational, music-based experiences for seniors. The organization was designed to be self-sustaining, allowing the community to build musical memories together for as long as there are seniors, music schools and students who value the power of connection!

 

Harry and Carmina combined their names in Harminy to constantly remind them of how deeply personal the organization's mission is and why it was so important to bring this program to the community. As family members of loved ones experiencing age-related cognitive decline, they have learned first hand the unique ability that music has to combat depression, lift spirits and engage the mind. This is especially true across generational divides, with music acting as a universal language that triggers memories and helps form new ones.
